AppSecEngineer Cloud Sandboxes are real-world cloud environments in AWS and Azure (GCP coming soon!). They allow you to run cloud labs, tinker and practice in a virtual cloud playground, and try out security tests, exploits, and more, all without needing to bring your own AWS or Azure account.
They spin up in just seconds, so you don't have to go through the infrastructure or security challenges of setting up your own cloud environment. Once you're done learning, they're immediately 'nuked', erasing all data and closing down the server you spun up.
It's easy! When you provision a cloud lab (in one of the AWS or Azure security courses), we also create a temporary AWS account for you. Once the lab is ready, we generate a username and password. You can copy these from the course page and paste them in lab when prompted.
Once you're done with the lab and shut it down, your temporary account is also erased from the servers.
Yes, you can. AppSecEngineer's Cloud Sandboxes are realistic cloud playground where you can run all the tools, scans, and cloud services you'd normally be able to run in an actual cloud environment.
However, these lab environments are primarily meant for learning cloud security, and run for a limited time period before shutting down automatically. This time period will give you plenty of time to complete the lab, so you'll still be able to play around with the environment afterwards.
